Distribution Team Leader

Do you have experience leading a team in a warehouse or distribution environment? Are you familiar with Lean Manufacturing and proficient with ERP, WMS and FMS systems?

A great opportunity has arisen for a Distribution Team Leader to join a local plastics company that manufacture high quality plastic products to clients nationally and worldwide. This position is a hands-role, ensuring all routine daily warehouse activities are completed accurately, meet quality standards and orders are processed in a timely and cost efficient way, by helping to co-ordinate people and processes. This role will include picking orders, loading trucks, documentation and dispatch liaison with clients and customers.

You will provide on-going support and training to ensure the team meets daily, weekly and monthly objectives by guiding them and promoting a productive, safe and efficient environment. The successful applicant must have previous experience in a distribution or warehouse environment, managing a team and be familiar with Lean manufacturing. You will be directly leading a small team of 4 yard staff, (including 6 indirectly) so will need to be personable, have a hands on approach and strong leadership ability.

To be considered for this position you will have:
• Proven leadership ability within a warehouse or distribution environment
• Experienced in Lean Manufacturing
• Working knowledge of NZ Health and Safety
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Experience with ERP, WMS and FMS systems

This position is day shift working Monday to Friday 7.30am-4.00pm and comes with a company cell phone. You will need to be flexible with hours as there are occasions that you will be required to fit in around distribution requests. Current F Endorsement and OSH forklift would be preferred.

You will maintain a high level of H&S, picking performance and be required to meet picking KPI’s. The successful applicant must have previous experience in warehousing, logistics and forklift operation, and be familiar with a manufacturing environment. This environment can be hi-paced during seasonal peaks so you must be able to manage pressure and be able to work extra hours to meet customer demands.

Farm Hand

We are looking for a Farm Hand (ideally with experience) to help out with the day to day work on a 360 ha mixed crop and stock farm, less than 15 minutes East of Ashburton. This well-established farm runs 400 ewes, 200 beef stock, fattens 1200 store lambs over winter and winter grazes dairy cows.

You will ideally have had some experience moving irrigators, doing stock work and helping out at harvest. If you had a Class 2 license it may place your application at an advantage.
The person we are looking for will:
• Have proven reliability
• Be easy going and flexible with hours
• Show initiative and have common sense

This position is drive in/drive out (no accommodation on farm) and may suit someone who is looking to broaden their skill base. Initially work will be from early January until the end of March however, for the right person this position could become permanent.
