Our Client is a well respected Timaru business, who is seeking a candidate who will initially be a labourer, getting out and about in the countryside with a team specialising in rural water. If you prove your worth to our client, there is a possibility of gaining qualification in rural water as your experience grows.

Initially the role is a longer term temp role however for the right person, this role could easily turn permanent.

You will possess the following qualities:

  • You will be fit and reliable, not minding picking up a shovel for reasonable periods of your working day.
  • Reliable transport to get to and from work, and a clean C1 licence as a minimum, even better if you have C2!

This position is a hands-on role, working on a casual basis, to assist distribution and to effectively ensure a smooth flow with inwards goods, picking and dispatching orders, while meeting company customer standards. This role will involve loading and unloading trucks and containers, shifting stock around the yard, inventory control, some computer work and physical labouring. This role is on a casual basis, (as and when required), to cover the seasonal peak from September through to November and will be during weekdays, Monday to Friday.

Experience in warehousing, logistics and forklift operation would be ideal as the environment can be hi-paced during seasonal peaks, you must be able to manage pressure and be able to work extra hours to meet customer demands. You will maintain a high level of H&S and an accurate picking performance.

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Current OSH Forklift and preferably F Endorsement
  • Competent with forklift operation
  • Working knowledge of NZ Health and Safety
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Have an excellent work ethic and be reliable
