Do you enjoy variety, challenge and working outdoors? Do you have a mechanical mind and are good with tools and machinery? Are you experienced in Spanning Irrigators and supervising staff?

An opportunity has arisen for a Spanning Crew Team Leader to be hands on overseeing 3-6 staff with the assembly of Reinke Pivot Irrigators. Previous supervising experience in the irrigation field is ideal but applicants with sound knowledge and proven experience in irrigation should still apply. You will need to have good attention to detail along with exceptional organisational skill and the ability to effectively communicate with your team. HT Class 4 is preferred but training will be provided for the right person.

This role is a permanent position involving the assembly of centre pivot and lateral irrigators throughout the South Island and offers future career development with suppliers in USA. On occasion there will be the requirement to stay away from home but all accommodation, meals and drinks are paid for along with the supply of a vehicle. The days are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5pm and the occasional Saturday during seasonal peaks.

Skills or experience should include:
• Sound knowledge and experience with pivot irrigators and assembly
• Mechanically mind and good with tools / machinery
• Organisational skills
• High level of communication
• A full driver’s license
• Class 4 Driver’s licence preferred but not essential as training provided

Loader Driver / JCB Operator – Temuka

Our client is currently seeking a loader / JCB driver to join their team for the upcoming 2020-21 silage season. You will be driving a 435 JCB for most of the season with potential to branch out into other areas of the business. The client would take on the right candidate well before the season begins based on their experience and how they fit in with the current team.

Temporary Dairy Assistant

Dairy Assistant with great English is sought to assist with a 1000 cow dairy farm.   This farm is located 10 minutes from Ashburton and shared accommodation is provided at a minimal rate for the successful candidate. 

Your duties will include:

  • Milking & feeding calves
  • Learning about animal health and detecting mastitis
  • Assist with calving and mating
  • Break fencing feed
  • Getting cows in for milking
  • Understand and adhere to all Health and Safety policies on farm           

Our ideal candidate will have clear English, a positive attitude and will not be afraid of working hard alongside the rest of a small team with a willingness to learn, grow, and work to the best of their ability.

This established family farm is a busy environment where they try to be relatively self-sufficient, they fatten several thousand store lambs, sow and harvest their own crops with modern equipment and make their own baleage. During troughs in the workload there will be some general farm labour involved to fit in with the truck driving.

• Class 5 License

• The ability to be flexible with seasonal peaks and troughs

Initially this position is from January through to April, however for the right candidate this position could be a permanent full time role.
