Store Person

An opportunity has arisen to join the team at a leading provider of irrigation solutions servicing Mid Canterbury clients. If you thrive in a role that has a demand for accuracy alongside efficient and effective time management, we currently have a full-time, permanent vacancy for your next challenge.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the warehouse operates smoothly and customers’ expectations (external and internal) are met within specific deadlines – especially during seasonal peaks. This would suit someone who is familiar with agricultural machinery and parts, has knowledge of fittings and irrigation systems and is good at finding solutions and fixing problems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining stock levels
  • Receiving incoming goods
  • Receipting outgoing goods
  • Dealing with customer enquiries
  • Packing and dispatching phone/fax/email orders
  • Packing/sorting project or service job parts
  • Entering/allocating parts into computer system
  • Ensuring store is kept clean and presentable
  • HT Licence, F Endorsement and OSH forklift preferable

This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday including rostered Saturdays during peak season. Hours during summer are 7am-5pm with overtime as required and winter hours are 8am-5pm dependant on customer demands.

To be successful, you will need previous experience with stores or warehouse work, be competent with computer systems, physically fit as there will be some heavy lifting, show initiative, be accurate and have excellent communication and customer service skills.

Class 5 Drivers – Harvest Season

Do you have truck driving experience in the agricultural industry? Are you competent driving a truck and trailer?

We are currently seeking skilled class 5 truck drivers for the up-coming harvest season to cart a range of bulk products such as silage, grain and fertiliser throughout Mid Canterbury.

You must have:

  • A Class 5 license with a clean driving record
  • Experience driving a truck and trailer unit and backing
  • Physically fit, honest and reliable
  • Flexible working hours
  • Compliant with all health and safety policies and procedures

You will need to be flexible with hours, there will be times when you will need to work longer when the weather is right and you must be able to work well as a part of a team. The roles are to cover the harvest season from October through until March but could be longer for the right person.

Experienced Service Technician – Ashburton

Do you enjoy working in the agricultural sector and being outdoors? Are you mechanically minded and enjoy fixing things? Do you have experience as a Service Technician in the Irrigation Sector?

We are currently seeking a Service Technician for an Irrigation client based in Ashburton. Having been in the game of providing cost effective irrigation solutions for over a decade, they are a progressive company and a market leader in their industry.

This role is a permanent position for the right applicant and has plenty of room for growth within the company. You will be required to service pivot irrigators in the Mid and South Canterbury region which will include maintenance, repairs, servicing and fault finding. Ideally, the successful applicant will have previous experience as a Service Technician in the Irrigation sector, but those who are mechanically minded, have some electrical knowledge and have a maintenance background should still apply.

You will be required to have:
• A proven service/maintenance, mechanical or engineering background
• Be able to work autonomously
• Diagnostic and problem solving ability
• Pump knowledge or understanding
• High level of communication
• A full driver’s license

The hours are generally 7.30am start and can be 10 hour days during the peak season which is normally October through until February. During the main irrigation season there will also be rostered weekend work every third weekend and time and a half after 50 hours.
