Class 5 Drivers – Harvest Season

Do you have truck driving experience in the agricultural industry? Are you competent driving a truck and trailer?

We are currently seeking skilled class 5 truck drivers for the up-coming harvest season to cart a range of bulk products such as silage, grain and fertiliser throughout Mid Canterbury.

You must have:

  • A Class 5 license with a clean driving record
  • Experience driving a truck and trailer unit
  • Physically fit, honest and reliable
  • Flexible working hours
  • Compliant with all health and safety policies and procedures

These roles are for clients who require you to work long hours at times when the weather is right, and need you to work in well as a part of a team. The roles are to cover the harvest season from October through until March but could be longer for the right person.

We are currently seeking experienced Tractor Drivers to help our Client’s in the upcoming de-stoning/planting season. (Starting from August)

You will be working with modern machinery, in very busy environments and with a great team. 

You will need to have:

  • Experience in cropping or agricultural contracting
  • A full driver’s license
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • A reliable and flexible working attitude
  • Fluent English

We are looking for a versatile person to work for our client on their 1,500ha property based 20 minutes out of Ashburton.  Ideally someone with a mechanical background and engineering skills would fit this role. 

This established farm is a busy environment where they try to be relatively self-sufficient, they fatten 6 – 8,000 store lambs, sow, spray and harvest their own crops with modern equipment and make their own baleage.  There is a Haushan 4000 sprayer, an excavator & digger on farm for the machinery operator with appropriate licenses. 

On a property this size, there is always R & M / improvement work that needs doing which is where your engineering & mechanical skills will come to the fore.

We are looking for a multi skilled labourer to join a team of like-minded labourers, to assist in filling, bagging and mixing seeds. The role will involve a variety of work from lifting (25kg up to 50kg with a weighing machine), stacking pallets, general labouring and loading/unloading trucks.

The successful applicant will need to be reliable and committed to the job, be comfortable working in a dusty environment and be able to work well as part of a team. There is opportunity to learn other aspects of the business so a willingness to learn and improve is essential. 

A forklift endorsement would be a plus but not essential.

This is a temporary position that could lead to a permanent role for the right person.

Days are Monday to Friday, 7.00am – 4.00pm and ½ day Saturday’s as required.

If successful, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Our Client is looking for a Farm Hand to join the team working on their fully irrigated 700ha property on the outskirts of Ashburton. With 2000 cows being wintered, your role will include break fencing, feeding out straw & silage and general farm duties.

  • 1 year minimum farming experience
