Motor Mechanic

Our client provides extensive vehicle maintenance, car servicing, restoration work and engine rebuilding for all makes and models of classic and vintage cars from their workshop in Ashburton. They are a locally owned and operated, well-respected workshop, looking for their next Motor Mechanic.

They offer a great team environment with a huge variety of work in their workshop which is large, bright, clean, and very well equipped.

You will hold either a current qualification or have a proven background in mechanics, with the ability to repair and restore as opposed to replacing parts. We are looking for someone who knows their stuff, enjoys being busy, can organise themselves, has a high standard of workmanship and likes job satisfaction. 

This role is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm and offers a competitive hourly rate. The successful applicant will need to supply their own basic tools, everything else is supplied in their well-equipped workshop. A weekly tool allowance is included along with pre-arranged personal use of the workshop out of hours and in-house staff discounts on parts.

Experienced Service Technician – Ashburton

Do you enjoy working in the agricultural sector and being outdoors? Are you mechanically minded and enjoy fixing things? Do you have experience as a Service Technician in the Irrigation Sector?

We are currently seeking a Service Technician for an Irrigation client based in Ashburton. Having been in the game of providing cost effective irrigation solutions for over a decade, they are a progressive company and a market leader in their industry.

This role is a permanent position for the right applicant and has plenty of room for growth within the company. You will be required to service pivot irrigators in the Mid and South Canterbury region which will include maintenance, repairs, servicing and fault finding. Ideally, the successful applicant will have previous experience as a Service Technician in the Irrigation sector, but those who are mechanically minded, have some electrical knowledge and have a maintenance background should still apply.

You will be required to have:
• A proven service/maintenance, mechanical or engineering background
• Be able to work autonomously
• Diagnostic and problem solving ability
• Pump knowledge or understanding
• High level of communication
• A full driver’s license

The hours are generally 7.30am start and can be 10 hour days during the peak season which is normally October through until February. During the main irrigation season there will also be rostered weekend work every third weekend and time and a half after 50 hours.

Auto Technician

We are seeking NZ Qualified Auto Technicians to work on a wide range of vehicles to complete minor and major mechanical repairs and services along with electronic diagnostics for both passenger and light commercial vehicles.

Your day will consist of normal services, WOF inspections, engine and transmission repair up to major overhauls.


• Trade qualified motor mechanic
• WOF Certificate
• Excellent diagnostic skills
• Communicates well with colleagues and customers
• Clean driver’s license

You will need to be hardworking, have a good sense of humour, enjoy your work, and be able to work efficiently and productively.
