Service Technician – Timaru based role

Do you enjoy working in the agricultural sector and being outdoors? Are you mechanically minded and enjoy fixing machinery? Do you have experience as a Service Technician in the Irrigation Sector?

We are currently seeking a Service Technician for an Irrigation client with branches based in Ashburton and Timaru. Having been in the game of providing cost effective irrigation solutions for over a decade, they are a progressive company and a market leader in their industry.

This role is a permanent position for the right applicant and has plenty of room for growth within the company. You will be required to service pivot irrigators in the South Canterbury region which will include maintenance, repairs, servicing and fault finding. Ideally, the successful applicant will have previous experience as a Service Technician in the Irrigation sector, but those who are mechanically minded, have some electrical knowledge and have a maintenance background should still apply.

You will be required to have:
• A proven service/maintenance, mechanical or engineering background
• Be able to work autonomously
• MIG and Stick welding skills
• Diagnostic and problem solving ability
• Pump knowledge or understanding
• High level of communication
• A full driver’s license

The hours are generally 7.30am start and can be 10 hour days during the peak season which is normally October through until February. During the main irrigation season there will also be rostered weekend work every third weekend and time and a half after 50 hours.
