Distribution Team Leader

Do you have experience leading a team in a warehouse or distribution environment? Are you familiar with Lean Manufacturing and proficient with ERP, WMS and FMS systems?

A great opportunity has arisen for a Distribution Team Leader to join a local plastics company that manufacture high quality plastic products to clients nationally and worldwide. This position is a hands-on role, ensuring all routine daily warehouse activities are completed accurately, meet quality standards and orders are processed in a timely and cost efficient way, by helping to co-ordinate people and processes. This role will include picking orders, loading trucks, documentation and dispatch liaison with clients and customers.

You will provide on-going support and training to ensure the team meets daily, weekly and monthly objectives by guiding them and promoting a productive, safe and efficient environment. The successful applicant must have previous experience in a distribution or warehouse environment, managing a team and be familiar with Lean manufacturing.  You will be directly leading a small team of 4 yard staff, (including 6 indirectly) so will need to be personable, have a hands on approach and strong leadership ability.

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Proven leadership ability within a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Experienced in Lean Manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of NZ Health and Safety
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience with ERP, WMS and FMS systems

This position is day shift working Monday to Friday 7.30am-4.00pm and comes with a company cell phone. You will need to be flexible with hours as there are occasions that you will be required to fit in around distribution requests. Current F Endorsement and OSH forklift would be preferred.
