PART TIME ROLE HEALTH AND SAFETY – TIMARU

Our client is a local construction company who are market leaders in their field and have more work than they know what to do with! Due to ongoing rapid growth they are seeking to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to work alongside the Management team.

This role will ideally be 20 – 30 hours per week – days and when you work will be flexible. There will be a split of being out on site and being in the office tending to paperwork and Health and Safety plans. You should be experienced enough to understand the construction industry and ideally have at least 3 years experience in the field, demonstrating a sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and other periphial issues relating to H & S.

You will manage all H & S requirements such as:

  • Site inductions and audits,
  • Site inspections
  • Site specific Safety Plans
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements
  • Maintaining all documentation and ensuring it is up to date, including Certifications, Qualifications etc
  • Updating the Hazard Register and ensuring that all injuries are dealt with appropriately.

We are seeking a very special person who is preferably experienced in the construction sector, and understands what would be required in this role. You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and will be happy working alongside anyone from your workmates to subcontractors and various legislative authorities. Most of all you will be collaborative and engaging, meaning that you will have the ability to make Health and Safety a core focus of our client’s organisation.

You may be a consultant who is looking for more industry related business, you may be semi retired or you might be someone looking for work/lifestyle balance, but most of all Health and Safety will be your passion.
