A vacancy has arisen for a reliable and hardworking team member to join the forecourt service team as a trainee tyre fitter for a busy Christchurch branch. Previous experience within the tyre industry preferred, although additional fleet service training and support will be given to the successful applicant. You will receive on the job training in all aspects of the tyre industry from fitting and repairing car tyres through to forklift, heavy truck, tractor and earth mover tyres. In return, you will be rewarded with attractive hourly and overtime rates along with monthly and call-out bonuses.

You will need to be willing to work rostered Saturdays, hold a clean full drivers licence, be self-motivated and physically fit. A Heavy Traffic licence would be an advantage but not essential.

This is a 100% South Island owned and operated Tyre company who have been providing tyres and service to the transport industry and local community since 1946. They have an excellent reputation for valuing staff members, along with rewarding hard work and loyalty.

The successful applicant must have a full clean NZ Drivers Licence and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

In this role you will be expected to be able to read plans, perform fabrication tasks, MIG welding and show initiative. The successful candidate will have good welding skills with a proven work history in engineering preferable, but will also consider applicants that have gained experience at home. Must have good communication skills and be able to follow instructions along with the ability to work unsupervised.
