ATTN: ACCOUNTING GRADS – AUDIT CONTRACT IN TIMARU

Are you an Accounting grad with good grades seeking audit experience? If so, we have a great opportunity for you!

Based in the Timaru CBD, our client is a well respected Chartered Accounting firm.   Audit time is just about upon them again, and they are seeking two Accounting grads who want to learn the fine art of Audit during the course of a two month full time contract commencing approximately at the end of March, and finishing early to mid May.  These timeframes may extend out either way dependant on work volume.

You will learn on the job, ably mentored by a very experienced Audit partner who will support you every step of the way.

You will exhibit the following criteria:

  • Possess an Accounting degree with good grades
  • An ability to work as part of a high performing team
  • Attention to detail as well as the ability to “knuckle down” while working with volumes of figures and facts
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • You will be loyal and reliable with an enquiring mind and not afraid to ask questions.

This is a seldom offered opportunity for two high performing grads to get some solid audit experience under their belt, within a well respected firm.  

If you are not currently based in Timaru, you must be able to relocate and have sourced your own accomodation within the required timeframe.

In this position you will be required to be the face of the company, welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries along with financial processing of debtor/creditor ledger management, bank reconciliation, payroll, time and expense recording and dealing with overseas currency. 

This is a full time permanent position 40 hours per week but a job share situation would be considered for the right applicants. Basic knowledge of FOREX would be beneficial along with experience in Cashbook Complete, XERO, Smart Payroll and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
