Intermediate Accountant – Timaru

Our Client:

Martin Wakefield is a medium sized accounting practice consisting of qualified accountants, business consultants, tax specialists, and financing and valuation specialists.  Established in the early 1900’s, the firm has offices in Timaru and Christchurch and they offer a comprehensive range of services to clients throughout Canterbury and further afield.

 The Role:

They are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join their BAS team.  Working under a Team Leader, the successful applicant will have on-going support and training, in order to provide clients with a high quality service in a face to face capacity.  You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing monthly cash flow reports
  • Completing GST returns
  • Preparing annual financial statements
  • Other standard compliance duties

Applicants:

It is expected that applicants will have an Accounting Qualification gained in a recognised NZ University.  They will have gained 2-3 years of accounting experience (ideally within a CA environment).  Those who have completed foundations/PCE1 or are already on their PAS course are also encouraged to apply.  The ideal person will be passionate about working closely with a client’s business, interpreting their requirements and delivering a quality solution.

Management Accountant – Timaru

Our client is a leading manufacturer based in Timaru.  They export their products locally, nationally and internationally.  They are continuing to achieve growth on a yearly basis.

They are looking for a focussed and ‘hands-on’ Management Accountant to join their company.  Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

Preparation of monthly management reports

  • Drafting and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Helping to implement new accounting procedures
  • Analysing production output, maintenance schedules and supply volumes

This position would be suitable for a tertiary qualified Accountant who has strong working knowledge of the commercial sector (direct manufacturing or similar experience would be a key advantage).  Candidates will have at least 5 years of management accounting experience, proven business acumen and excellent analytical skills.  Payroll experience would be preferable.  You must also be prepared to ‘muck in’ and help out with a range of other tasks including the implementation of staff KPI’s and identifying opportunities to improve labour productivity and efficiency.

Office Administrator – Ashburton

Our client, a local printing promotion company with over 30 year’s industry experience is looking for an experienced Office Administrator to become an integral part of their team

Working closely with the Manager and Sales team, you will be responsible for many aspects of the business including preparing quotes, liaising between customers and suppliers to maintain product quality, pricing and ensuring specified times are met. Some processing of accounts, client database management will also be required

This role would be ideal for someone who has strong all round computer skills, a high standard of spelling and grammar, is adaptable, conscientious and enjoys working in a team environment.
