We are looking for a multi skilled labourer to join a team of like-minded labourers, to assist in filling, bagging and mixing seeds. The role will involve a variety of work from lifting (25kg up to 50kg with a weighing machine), stacking pallets, general labouring and loading/unloading trucks.

The successful applicant will need to be reliable and committed to the job, be comfortable working in a dusty environment and be able to work well as part of a team. There is opportunity to learn other aspects of the business so a willingness to learn and improve is essential. 

A forklift endorsement would be a plus but not essential.

This is a temporary position that could lead to a permanent role for the right person.

Days are Monday to Friday, 7.00am – 4.00pm and ½ day Saturday’s as required.

If successful, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Temporary Port Work

We have a number of clients who require temporary port workers across different disciplines – wharf work, lashing and hatch.

You will need to be happy working 12 hour shifts, be available at short notice, have flexibility in your attitude and most of all be reliable!

Transport to and from the Port location won’t be an issue for you and you will be drug and alcohol free. 

This role may suit business owners or independant contractors wishing to add to their existing income.

We are currently looking for hard working individuals who are available for a range of temporary / permanent assignments with immediate start. 

The work will be in a range of industries such as:

  • Engineering
  • HT Driving Roles
  • Factory Labouring
  • General Labouring

In order to succeed in many of our assignments, you will have strong communication skills, and you will be physically fit and able to complete manual handling and heavy lifting duties. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is very important.

Whilst most of these roles are based in South Canterbury/North Otago, it would be beneficial to have your own transport and at least your Restricted Licence. FIT AND STRONG, WANT TO GO PLACES????

Our Client is a well respected Timaru business, who is seeking a fit and strong labourer with dreams of gaining qualifications in both water and waste water. Initially the role is a longer term temp role however for the right person, this role could turn permanent with the opportunity to gain industry qualifications if you prove yourself at ground level.

You will possess the following qualities:

  • You will be fit and reliable, not minding picking up a shovel for reasonable periods of your working day.
  • Reliable transport to get to and from work, however preferably a C1 licence minimum.
  • A willing and flexible work ethic.
  • Happy to work as part of a diverse team

Hours will generally be Monday – Friday 7.30 am – 5 pm, however you should be prepared to be flexible as sometimes work will need to be undertaken early mornings and nights dependant on different situations that arise. this doens’t happen a lot but it does occasionally occur.

Willing to work around sewerage and stormwater pipes, this means holding cables and lids that are sometimes covered in sewerage (Relevant PPE gear will be supplied – gloves, masks etc)

Technical and digital knowledge is a real plus (however not necessary), as you may eventually be learning how to operate cameras and film drains using a laptop.

This is a “Step in the Door” for a fit and willing person who can invisage a longer term career, however is not afraid to start at the bottom of the ladder. This is a real outdoors role with an excellent team and would suit someone who enjoys fitness and being outside.
