We are currently seeking skilled diesel mechanics or mechanical assistants for one of our busy truck and trailer repair clients in Ashburton. This company pride themselves in the quality of their workmanship and meeting their client’s requirements in a competitive timeframe.

You will be required to have:

  • Experience with truck and trailer repairs
  • The ability to problem solve
  • Servicing skills
  • A full driver’s license

If you have an interest in working with heavy machinery and are either a trade qualified mechanic or have experience in servicing and maintaining trucks and trailers or vehicles then this would be a great opportunity for you. Our Ashburton based client has a great opportunity for a competent welder/engineer, who can hit the ground running. This full-time role involves building new irrigation systems in a variety of locations out in the field, along with some workshop requirements. You will be provided with a supportive team environment where your great initiative and strong problem-solving skills will be well utilised. If you thrive on taking ownership in your work and have the ability to work unsupervised and independently then this could be the opportunity for you.

To be successful in this position you will need:

• Engineering and MIG and TIG welding skills
• Irrigation knowledge
• Familiar with Cast and Steel fitting
• Ability to read plans and follow exact instructions
• Full Class 1 Drivers Licence

Machine Operator

Our Client urgently requires Machine Operators to work set shifts in their plastics factory. Ideally, you will have experience in machine operation or factory work, be accurate with numbers and documenting measurements and have some computer knowledge.

ideally an F endorsed Forklift licence would be an advantage but not necessary.

As there will be some lifting involved of up to 25 kg, you will need to be physically fit. You must also be self-motivated, a team player, have excellent work ethics and able to think on your feet.

Although commencing in a temporary role, this position could become permanent for the right person.

You must be able to pass a full drug and alcohol assessment and have a clean criminal record to be considered for this position.

Service Technician

We are currently seeking a Service Technician for an Irrigation client based in Ashburton. This role is a permanent position for the right applicant and has plenty of room for growth within the company. You will be required to service pivot irrigators in the Mid Canterbury region which will include maintenance and repairs and you must also be able to work autonomously. The successful applicant will need to be mechanically minded, have some electrical knowledge and have a maintenance background.

You will be required to have:
• A service/ maintenance background
• Good problem solving skills
• Be able to work autonomously
• A full drivers license

The hours are generally 7.30am start and can be 10 hour days during the peak season which is normally October through until February. During the main irrigation season there will also be rostered weekend work every third weekend and time and a half after 50 hours.

Arable farm role

We are currently seeking a hard working individual for a permanent position in the Ashburton area. This Arable role requires someone passionate about Agricultural farming and wanting to learn more and advance themselves in the industry.

Mainly crop based, some duties in this role include tractor operation, irrigation work, and pasture management with various crops including grasses, wheat and barley, along with specialised seed crops. There is also assistance with dairy grazing seasonally and general farm duties and maintenance required.

A working week of on average 45 hours, with flexibility required to work long hours and weekends in seasonal peaks.
The ideal candidate for this role will need to be responsibility, punctual, self-motivated, with enthusiasm and energy. You will require either crop farming experience or a general understanding of farming in New Zealand. This role provides a competitive hourly rate and accommodation is not provided.
